The Cabernet Franc component is sourced from our friends and neighbors at Brecon Estate, who acquired the old Norman Vineyards plantings, dating back to the '70s. The Malbec comes from La Vista Vineyards, and contribute suppleness and roundness to the blend. La Vista's Westside Paso site is at just under 2000ft in elevation, and is comprised mostly of calcareous Linne Calodo soil. The Cabernet Sauvignon components in the blend come from 1700ft Adelaida Springs Ranch and the somewhat lower Dodd Family Ranch. The tannins are firm and racy, sometimes taking years to calm down in bottle. Classic Bordelaise herbaceous spiciness, and a dark-fruited core.
